WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION?
•Consistently delivers a remarkable customer experience through assisting and handling claims involving injury
•Within approved limits, applies claims settlement procedures to handle claims, initiate claim payment process, and close files assigned by Auto Claim Management, Claim Specialist, and/or electronic assignment
•Works in partnership with the Claim Specialist
•Works with attorneys and paralegals in coordination with the Claim Specialist
•Communicates with team members, business partners, and external customers in handling claims involving injuries
•Uses various electronic resources for claim handling
•Follows established procedures to appropriately review, handle, and settle applicable routine property, and/or material damage claims.
•Assists claim specialist with handling and settling claims involving injury.
•Researches, resolves, and settles claims involving injury within approved limits and/or as directed.
•Organizes and processes assigned work and large volumes of claims utilizing appropriate procedures.
•Assists claim specialist with recognizing and properly handling salvage.
•Follows standard claim processes.
•Recognizes potential NICB indicators.
•Secures releases from appropriate parties based on direction from claim specialist.
•Assists claim specialist in handling lawsuits involving injury claims.
•Assists in training and/or mentoring less experienced employees.
•Applies knowledge of insurance contracts and endorsements, state laws and regulations, customer service philosophy, automotive repair methods and parts, medical and anatomical terminology, within approved limits.
•Recognizes, refers, and/or handles subrogation or reimbursement claims within approved limits.
•Recognizes and refers claims that are beyond scope of authority.
•Communicates with team members, business partners, and external customers which may require contact by telephone, written correspondence, in-person, or other electronic media.
ITEMS OF NOTE
•Completes all applicable training
•Fulfills state licensing and continuing education requirements, as applicable
•Applies knowledge of state and federal laws, statutes and insurance regulations in claim handling
•Position may require walking, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crawling, and/or lifting objects
•Job may require travel overnight via commercial transportation or driving motor vehicles to any office locations where the Company does business, or other locations to conduct/attend training, conferences, meetings, and/or seminars
•Incumbent must be willing to work flexible work shifts as operation dictates
•Incumbent may work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, based on workload and job requirement
•Incumbent may be required to work overtime
HOURS OF OPERATION: The anticipated hours of operation will be 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., customer time. As such, depending on the customer time zone and employee office location, employee shifts may fall outside of 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. employee time. Employees may be expected to work in a rotating shift environment including irregular hours, weekends, and holidays based on workload and job requirements. Employees' work schedules may change based on business need.
TRAINING: Training location may differ from physical office location.
LICENSING: Successful candidates selected for this position will receive a job offer stating that continued employment as a State Farm Claim Associate is contingent upon meeting the requirements necessary to obtain appropriate state(s) mandated licenses. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s), and background checks required of various state(s). Failure to do so may result in termination.
