Analyzes and summarizes commercial applicant financial statements to facilitate lending decisions for average credits and vendor arrangements.  Prepares credit-related reports for approval.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Analyzes and spreads financial statements and tax returns to assess the financial condition of existing and new borrowers and their financial viability.  Analyzes and assesses trends, ratios and cash flow.  Assess the adequacy of collateral.

  2. Prepares concise written reports identifying industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends and other pertinent underwriting issues to present to the approving Credit Officer or Loan Committee. 

  3. Obtains and reviews financial data from the credit file or outside sources, determines additional information and investigation needs and contacts appropriate sources to ensure a complete financial overview for analysis. 

  4. Assumes additional responsibilities and duties as necessary to ensure department objectives are met. May manage the distribution and taking minutes for Executive Loan Committee. 

  5. Assists in department objectives by determining to extend credit to commercial borrowers.  In addition, provides analysis and recommendation to conduct business with specific participation banks and vendors.

  6. Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies and procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones’ duties. 



College degree with preference for a major in Business / Accounting / Finance / Economics.


1+ year of commercial loan experience or general banking experience with preference for credit analysis experience.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of both financial and managerial accounting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
