Content Producer

At FISA-OPA, pays City of New York employees, retirees, and vendors. FISA-OPA also develop and manage high-performance information technology applications for the City’s integrated financial, payroll, timekeeping, and human resource systems.

FISA-OPA is currently looking for a content producer. As part of the Communications group, the content producer will be responsible for creating and editing written editorial content for the agency’s multiple audiences.

These audiences include City employees, City pension recipients, FISA-OPA employees, and City agency liaisons who rely on FISA-OPA for critical and time-sensitive daily bulletins.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to:

1) Providing editorial support to the different business teams at FISA-OPA responsible for sending daily electronic bulletins to City agency liaisons and within FISA-OPA

2) Providing editorial support for FISA-OPA’s internal SharePoint site

3) Updating and developing new editorial content for the Office of Payroll Administration website

4) Writing articles for FISA-OPA quarterly newsletter and assisting in its production

5) Maintaining the agency’s business forms and bulletin templates 


Minimum Qual Requirements 

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. 

Preferred Skills 

1) The ability to write in a clear, concise manner for a variety of audiences

2) A contemporary understanding of how to prioritize editorial information and create easy-to-read digital documents that can be read across computers, tablets, and mobile devices

3) Experience writing and editing government website and intranet sites

4) Experience editing technical or user-manual-based documents

5) Interviewing subject matter experts for editorial content to be used for internal and external channels

6) High proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

7) Ability to positively contribute to the editorial team and work environment 

Additional Information: 



HIRING RATE: $50,362


UP TO: $70,000

Hours/Shift:  Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm. 

Residency Requirement:  New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
