Coordinator of Membership and Marketing

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking a highly motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to fill the position of Coordinator of Membership and Marketing. The primary focus of this position includes oversight of the Recreation Services program, development of departmental marketing initiatives, and oversight of all facility reservations and rentals.


  • Supervise student staff for marketing and recreation services
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Recreation Services Office
  • Coordinate departmental support for all University open houses and other recruitment programs and efforts
  • Utilize multiple forms of social media to create innovative ways to market to the campus community
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies which positively represent the department and the University
  • Oversee all Campus Recreation reservation and rental requests by utilizing the Event Management System (EMS)
  • Collaborate with department staff to appropriately advertise a wide variety of recreational programs and services
  • Develop and maintain website content
  • Act as the lead for all departmental assessment activities


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience with productivity software including competency in Microsoft Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with event management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using CampusLabs platforms
  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
