Data Analyst IV

The Data Analyst IV will analyze hospital-acquired infection (HAI) data for New York State using multiple data sources to improve current surveillance methods. Specific duties will include: identifying temporal and geographic clusters of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) infections and Clostridium difficile infections (CDI) using CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) database, and analyzing linked billing and NHSN data to identify risk factors for CDI and subpopulations with higher than predicated CDI rates for targeting of interventions. Other related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Epidemiology, Statistics or related field AND two years of experience in epidemiology, data management, and analysis of large data sets or related area. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of such experience.
Strong SAS programming, data analysis, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of hospital and infectious disease epidemiology.
