Director, Facilities Management- Engineering

Status/Hours: Day Shift, 1.0 (8:00am-4:00pm)

Description: Plans, develops, and oversees the short and long-term objectives for all functions of the Mohawk Valley Health System Facilities and Management Department. Establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operations; establishes standards of customer service , performance and productivity; establishes department quality assurance and safety. Formulates and establishes goals, direction to guide the Facilities Management Department. Recommends facilities-based capital improvements, specifications, and equipment maintenance throughout the system. Working in concert with Environmental Health and Safety, ensures quality standards are met and maintained as well as ensures regulatory compliance with external agency standards (DNV, NYSDOH, DEC, EPA, etc.) Develops and manages related operating and capital budgets. Develops, tracks, and publishes performance metrics for all areas of facilities management to ensure a high degree of accountability to stakeholders. Creates a highly transparent environment that is responsive to customers’ concerns, issues, and input. Provides an effective communication channel for coordination, long range planning, and problem resolution. Determines and establishes work priorities and staffing needs, including staff development and training
-Bachelor degree in Engineering required, masters degree preferred
-Minimum 5 years experience of healthcare management experience plus 5 years plant engineering experience
-Requires thorough knowledge and comprehensive experience in rules and regulations governing health care facilities along with fire and life safety codes and standards.
-General knowledge of air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and construction required.
