Who We Are
SAGA Innovations, Inc. ( is a growing non-profit that provides underserved middle and high school students with high quality math tutoring during their school day, at no cost to them or their families.  We are able to provide this high-dosage service because of the passion and commitment of SAGA Fellows – full-time math tutors who devote a year of their lives to closing the achievement and opportunity gaps and impacting the lives of their students every day.  We currently serve around 2,500 students in Chicago and New York City.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Chicago Development is responsible for managing strategies and activities for corporate donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.


  • Identify local foundations and corporations invested in the development of Chicago Public Schools’ students.
  • Cultivate relationships with local corporations to increase our local donor base.
  • Write monthly reports showing progress toward development goals.
  • Collaborates with Director of Grants to research information on grants, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate gift campaigns, and special fundraising events.
  • Create a newsletter to inform donors on student success and overall organizational updates​
  • Development and Manage the establishment of a Chicago Advisory Board
  • Provide staff support for Barbara Algarin, who will be the Executive Director to the Chicago Advisory Board.
  • Develop an annual calendar of board meetings (3 or 4 a year), and plan and support all meetings.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and/or experience

  • Experience working with SAGA or for a nonprofit organization similar to SAGA.
  • Experience fundraising, with evidence of success
