Director of Human Resources

The Human Resources Director is responsible for implementing human resource programs such as, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training to ensure effective utilization of personnel, support the achievement of hotel business objectives and market competitiveness.


-Must have a BS/BA in Business, Human Resources or related field or equivalent.

-Certification as Human Resource Professional (HRP) through Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) or through American Hotel and Management Association (CHRE) preferred.

-Minimum four (4) Years’ experience in human resources preferable in a generalist role in a service industry.

-Must have familiarity with basic hotel operations, knowledge of governmental laws and regulations regarding human resources.

-Strong oral/written communication skills, counseling skills.


-Manage the recruitment of qualified applicants for hotel positions, conducts new employee orientation to familiarize employees with the hotel and Human Resources programs, and to complete new-hire paperwork.

-Coordinate the administration of compensation and benefit programs to include salary benefit surveys, salary structure adjustments, benefits enrollment/communication, personnel action notices, payroll changes

-Assist with the development of specialized incentive/recognition programs for line level employees

-Make recommendation to General Manager and corporate Human Resources on program changes needed to ensure competitiveness, effectiveness, and consistency with corporate HR policies.

-Develop and administer an effective employee relations program to include employee grievance process, employee counseling and issue resolution, employee recognition programs (e.g. employee of the month, employee social events)

-Ensure a positive and supportive work environment

-Serve as liaison between hotel and community to foster positive community/public relations.
