Job Description

This is a full-time open rank position, either Teaching Professor (with terminal degree) or Professor of the Practice (without terminal degree).

We invite applications and nominations for the Director of the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Wake Forest University. We seek an individual with the vision, capability, and thought leadership necessary to advance the development of our highly successful MA in Sustainability and associated dual-degree and certificate programs. This is an exceptional opportunity for a sustainability leader with the vision to build and foster enduring programs within one of the nation’s premier universities.  The position resides in the Graduate School and the Center for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability and offers the possibility of a faculty appointment in the appropriate area.

The ideal candidate will bring a compelling vision for campus-wide and national leadership in sustainability education and research, leadership in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary activities, and demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively across an organization to promote its collective goals. The position requires the ability and willingness to engage in efforts to secure external funding, expand connections to outside organizations, and foster linkages to the larger communities to support the activities and programs. The successful candidate can come from any background—academics, enterprise, or government—and have broad interests spanning sustainability sciences and practices.
