Job Description:

The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany's Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill an Education Specialist position in PDP's Department of Early Childhood Training in Albany, NY.

Description of Duties:

To ensure that the training events receiving EIP reimbursement have been evaluated through a quality assurance process and meet required standards.  Review Educational Incentive Program applications to determine eligibility and issue scholarship awards when applicable.  The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  1. Review events for alignment with EIP Event Review Criteria including event objectives, course content and duration to determine appropriateness
  2. Provide technical support and feedback to trainers and training organizations that have submitted events for review
  3. Assist in the development and revision of event approval criteria including: procedure manual, content, editing, proofreading, and formatting
  4. Other duties as assigned to meet contractual obligations
  5. Complete a detailed review of EIP program scholarship applications for compliance with all program requirements and process applications accordingly pursuant to that review
  6. Complete required reports and documentation as needed
  7. Assist in program evaluation and analysis
  8. Represent the Professional Development Program at professional conferences and meetings



Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization
  2. Two years of experience in adult education, training, or related field
  3. Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  4. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  5. Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse groups
  6. Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  7. Able to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  8. Proficiency in use of computers and software, including Microsoft Excel and Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in an appropriate field
  2. Experience in the field of early childhood education or a related area

Additional Information:

Salary Range:  High $40s
