Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, the Educational Aide will facilitate student success, career exploration, opportunities, presentations by professionals in the field, and provide follow up services to ensure positive student outcomes. The Educational Aide will assist the Non-Traditional Career Advisor in planning and running events for students in CTE programs, potential CTE students and others in the college community, with a specific focus on students intending to enter careers that are non-traditional to gender.  The Educational Aide will assist in providing career and educational services to students in programs leading to careers non-traditional to gender.


Coach and advise students on areas related to career exploration, and development of internships related to academic studies.

Coordinate targeted career events or programs that bring local professionals or alumni to campus for the purpose of connecting students to opportunities and occupations related to their training.

Assist with outreach initiatives with academic and student services departments, student clubs, local high schools, middle schools, and community agencies.

Maintain partnerships and network with community employers and agencies.

Assist in maintaining the office database/jobs board.

Participate in activities (e.g., recruitment, registration, etc.) as needed for students in non-traditional careers and CTE programs as well as in career events throughout the Capital Region.

Assist in development, coordination, and planning of workshops and classroom presentations related to college readiness, career exploration and planning, and job and internship searches in cooperation with the Non-Traditional Career Advisor.

Develop and distribute resources targeting information and services related to students seeking careers in non-traditional fields.

Assist with the creation and deployment of surveys designed to support data driven decision making.

Promote career related services, events, and activities.

Assist the Non-Traditional Career Advisor in operations related to the college's academic internship program.


Bachelor's degree in related field is required.


Previous experience or training in areas of career and employment services, human resources, counseling, or guidance, ideally with non-traditional to gender.

Master's degree and familiarity with Banner, Starfish, Microsoft Office Suite, and Social Media are also preferred.
