Have you served at least one year of National Service as a member of VISTA or AmeriCorps State and National? Are you a returned Peace Corps volunteer? We're looking for you! This position, is part of a larger New York State initiative referred to as the NYS Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative (ESPRI). It is a 16 city poverty initiative launched by Governor Cuomo in 2016 as part of a broad coalition of state and local government, business and nonprofit representatives working together to redesign and coordinate efforts to address extreme poverty throughout the state. This position will support the VISTAs as they work with their assigned agencies to address poverty focused activities and help develop strategies that match promising practices to the unique challenges of each particular community.
