Equipment Layout Designer – Tool Install, Semiconductor

Position summary:

Layout team member responsible for fab and subfab equipment layouts of specific modules as assigned to support Tool Install design and construction at Client’s site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, QA/QC, publish equipment layouts to Tool Install design and construction according to Client’s standards, including all EHS requirements
  • Optimize equipment placement for space, flexibility, cost, constructability
  • Support closure of layout related RFIs for Tool Install construction
  • Coordinate submittals and approvals for Client’s Layout Change Control Board process
  • Conduct field walks and accurately transfer as-built measurements and observation to design drawings
  • Communicate work and highlight issues/concerns/conflicts with layout team
  • Use standard engineering methods to analyze and resolve conflicts
  • Exercise initiative and creativity within limits of job scope
  • Interface with cross functional stakeholders and peers
  • Effectively communicate across functional departments and levels
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


Education & experience:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD to develop , review, and optimize facility layouts
  • Ability to comprehend and understand Tool Install design documents and drawing packages
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Paces work and execution of commitments to meet business needs
  • Ability to prioritize workload, proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met
  • Team player and desire to work in dynamic, fast paced environment 

Essential skills:

  • Degree in Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of direct layout, facility design, tool install, or equipment engineering experience including new construction and startup
  • Experience with BIM or other 3D modeling platform(s)
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
