Policy Research Associates (PRA) is seeking a full-time Grants and Contracts Specialist in its Operations Area.  A women-owned small business located in Delmar, NY, PRA is funded by federal and state agencies, national organizations, and foundations to support major national surveys; conduct research and evaluation; provide technical assistance and training; and plan and facilitate major conferences, meetings, and other knowledge-transfer activities in the behavioral health field.

Excel expertise is a must for this analytic position. You bring your Excel A-game and we will teach you the rest. Of course, if you happen to have an accounting background, and you are already familiar with government contracting, that works for us too! This position is a wonderful opportunity to take the skills you already possess and apply them to the administration of the amazing grants and contracts awarded to PRA and in the process, be part of a team that helps individuals with behavioral health needs achieve recovery.

Working closely with the VP for Operations, current Grants and Contracts Specialists, Accounting staff, and Program Area Directors, the person in this position will be responsible for all aspects of pre and post-award administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solicitation review and proposal preparation and submission
  • Budget development and management (reconciliation and cost projections)
  • Participate in and be a major contributor to regular contract quality review meetings
  • Coordination of subcontracts and consultant agreements
  • Maintaining the contract records

 

Qualifications:

  • Excel expertise and familiarity with other Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of budgeting
  • Government contracting experience/knowledge of policies and regulations a plus
  • Accounting system experience also a plus, JAMIS software preferred
  • Ability to work independently and with others; analytical thinker; strong attention to details
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
