Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning (Football and Basketball)

The University at Albany, a member of the America East and CAA (football only) Conferences, invites applications for a full-time (12-month) position of Head Coach Strength and Conditioning for Football and Basketball. The successful candidate will assist in all areas of the intercollegiate strength and conditioning program (primarily football and basketball) while developing, implementing and evaluating strength, speed, and conditioning programs. Duties include teaching Olympic movements, speed and acceleration techniques, agility drills, flexibility techniques, and sport specific strength and conditioning. The successful candidate will also evaluate athletes to determine problem areas (weaknesses, imbalances, inflexibility) and design corrective programs, including reconditioning programs for injured athletes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

  • Division I or IAA strength and conditioning head coaching experience

  • Three years' experience teaching Olympic movements to a variety of men's and women's teams

  • CPR certification

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Exercise Science or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

  • Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification by the NSCA

  • First aid certification
