The Department of Music and Theatre at the University at Albany, SUNY invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer in Choral Studies to begin September 1, 2018. The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Choral Program. Responsibilities include leading the University-Community Chorale and University Chamber Singers, and offering an additional course each semester for majors and/or non-majors. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, campus and community outreach, and collaboration with ensemble and studio faculty. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a diverse undergraduate population.

The initial appointment is for 2 years, with 3-year renewal contingent on successful review.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.M. or M.A. degree from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by the time of appointment

  • Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse population.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Doctoral degree from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
