Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Women's Spirituality graduate program at CIIS offers a transdisciplinary feminist and womanist approach to the study of spirituality and religion. Our curriculum incorporates scholarship from women's/gender studies, ethnic studies, religious studies, philosophy, and other related fields. We offer two degrees: an MA in Women, Gender, Spirituality, and Social Justice (WGS) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion with a Concentration in Women's Spirituality (WSE). We are the first MA and PhD program in the nation to integrate a study of the sacred feminine with an examination of contemporary social, political, and ecological issues. Faculty and students meet together to generate innovative ways to combine rigorous academic scholarship with the passionate pursuit of personal transformation, community healing, and social justice.

Courses are delivered in flexible formats, which include weekday, weekend, evening, and online courses. In addition to our residential option, we offer a semi-distance option that allows students to take up to 49% of their coursework online.

The WSE Program Coordinator ? Half-Time (50% FTE position) is responsible for the administration and overall coordination of the Women's Spirituality program. The Program Coordinator reports to the WS Program Chair and also works closely with the program's core and adjunct faculty. The Program Coordinator is the first point of contact for prospective and current students, alumnae, and adjunct faculty. This person also acts as the key liaison between the Women's Spirituality Program and other academic and administrative CIIS departments such as Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Operations, Communications, and the Business Office. The Program Coordinator maintains and updates the program website.

The Program Coordinator will occasionally be required to attend program events held outside regular work hours such as information sessions, retreats, open houses, symposia, and graduation celebrations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Work closely with students from admission through graduation on issues related to registration, dissertation paperwork, etc.

*Respond promptly and appropriately to inquiries from prospective students, current students, alumnae, faculty and CIIS administrative personnel

*Work in collaboration with department faculty, Communications, and Admissions departments on marketing and recruitment efforts program

*Create and maintain paper files, electronic files, and databases relating to faculty, students, and alumnae

*Oversee updates to program website, learning management systems, social media, and other online platforms

*Invoice all faculty and program expenses and track the departmental budget

*Coordinate room scheduling for classes, meetings, and program events

*In collaboration with the faculty, update program handbook, catalog, and marketing materials

*Keep track of all relevant program deadlines and help coordinate processes to meet deadlines

*Coordinate faculty course scheduling requests and syllabi

*Train and supervise student workers and temporary workers

*Assist Program Chair with special projects such as program self-studies, accreditation reports, etc., as needed

*Schedule meetings for Chair and other faculty as needed

*Oversee catering, food pick-up, carpool set up, and other logistics for events

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

*Minimum of two years of administrative experience and a BA

*Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail

*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies

*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

*Excellent oral and written communication skills

*Strong computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software

*Ability to manage website and social media

*Flexibility, creativity, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling multiple tasks and deadlines

*Familiarity with the higher education environment

*Commitment to the fields of women's spirituality and social justice

*Experience working with diverse populations (e.g. people of color, queer, working class, and differently abled individuals, etc.)

Salary commensurate with skills and experience.

*Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
