Program Research Specialist II

The Program Research Specialist II (PRS II) will work with researchers and public health professionals in the Office of Quality & Patient Safety on the Advanced Primary Care (APC) Scorecard. The PRSII will analyze data and assist with the quarterly processing of data and reporting on the core set of measures included in the APC Scorecard. This position will work closely with the Division of Quality Measurement, Innovation Center, and State Innovation Models (SIM) Integrated Care Workgroup to provide analytic and technical support. Duties include: conducting analysis from quality measure data sources maintained in the NYSDOH (i.e. APC Scorecard) and other state and federal data sources that can be used to evaluate the APC Model; assisting with the quarterly processing of data and reporting on the core set of measures included in the APC Scorecard; collaborating with the SIM Integrated Care Workgroup to evaluate the quality measures chosen for the APC Scorecard, maintaining technical specifications as versions of the APC scorecard are implemented; and, other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field and two years of research experience in the collection and evaluation of data. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
Intermediate SAS/SQL programming skills. Experience in data management and/or analysis, using large databases. Familiarity with quality measures used in primary care. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
