Public Health Emergency Preparedness Representative III

This position is primarily responsible for providing technical support to and overseeing PHEP grant deliverables for Local Health Departments in the Capital Region. This position is the lead planner for all Regional Emergency Response plans including, CHEMPACK, BDS, SNS, Duty Officer and Continuity of Operations. During an actual emergency event the PHEP Rep III plays a central role in coordinating response in the Region. This position provides vital emergency response support to the Capital Region Counties in recent events such as the flooding that occurred during hurricane Irene, tropical storm Lee, and superstorm Sandy. This position is also important in planning for and coordinating response to emergency events that require involvement of multiple disciplines.
Salary Min USD $69,749.00/Yr.
% Travel Up to 25%
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree and five years of relevant experience; OR seven years of relevant experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Relevant experience required must be in emergency preparedness and planning and/or response.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to establish priorities within assigned programs; organize, consolidate and prepare narrative and numerical information into clear, logical reports; analyze written and published program material and draw conclusions concerning its impact. Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills. Ability to work both independently and with teams, and strong initiative. Knowledge of computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Lotus Notes. Knowledge of pandemic influenza preparedness planning, goals and objectives and/or experience in public health programs. Knowledge and/or certification in Incident command system courses and homeland exercise and evaluation program.
Conditions of Employment :
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
