The Financial Information Services Agency (FISA) has a vacancy for a QTP/UFT Automation Script Developer to support ongoing production maintenance and functional enhancement to the various supported systems: Timekeeping (CityTime), HR and Benefits (NYCAPS), Payroll Management System (PMS), Retiree Payroll Management System (PPMS) and City Human Resource Management System (CHRMS). Under the direction of the Test Lead, the Manual/Automation Tester will develop, maintain and execute test scripts for system, functional, stress, regression, smoke, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing. This person should be able to analyze and troubleshoot issues.

New York City Residency is not required for this position. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements 

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using information technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, database administration, planning of data/information processing, user services, or area networks at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and must possess at least three years of experience as described in "1" above, including the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

NOTE: The following types of experience are not acceptable: superficial use of preprogrammed software without complex programming, design, implementation or management of the product; use of word processing packages; use of a hand held calculator; primarily the entering or updating of data in a system; the operation of data processing hardware or consoles. 

Preferred Skills 

• Extensive experience in developing and maintaining automated HP UFT scripts using Keyword Driven Framework and Descriptive programming.

• Extensive experience in creating functions, keywords and actions in Visual Basic (VB) scripting for new features and enhancements.

• Extensive experience using HP Quality Center (All modules), mapping Requirements to the Test Cases and Defects.

• Experience using IBM Rational Suite (Clear Case, Clear Quest etc.)

• QA experience using manual and automated testing tools and processes to perform functional, regression and performance testing

• Strong SQL knowledge to write complex queries and working knowledge of Database concepts like indexes, database logs, stored procedures etc

• Knowledge in SQL, HP Unified Functional Tester (UFT), HP Application Life Cycle Management (ALM) and Clear Quest.

• Experience in Clear Case and Cognos is a plus.

• Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, ability to understand and transform business requirements and technical designs into the test cases. Experience with internet/web application, client/server application and system implementations.

• Ability to work in a highly agile environment and work on multiple projects/tasks at the same time.

• Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate and develop detailed test plans, coordinate with design, development and implementation plans that present testing deliverables, testing schedule, and selected test systems based on the defined product requirements.

• Excellent Communications skills, interpersonal, organizational skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

• Ability to work on projects under stress due to the short deadlines.

• Experience with Time Keeping System testing.
