SI Group is seeking a Regulatory Advisor in Niskayuna, NY.

The Regulatory Advisor ensures SI Group compliance with national and international regulatory obligations, involving product classification and labelling. Hazard communication is an integral part of SI Group commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the health and safety of our employees and the public. The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment to support international development and implementation of systems to effectively meet our compliance obligations. This position is located at SI Group corporate headquarters in beautiful upstate New York. 

The Regulatory Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Determining the Classification of materials and maintain the documentation for classification and labeling; includes archives
  • Monitor new and proposed regulations and advise management of potential impacts
  • Research & Review toxicology, other companies SDS’s, Government reports and other public  data to rationalize current and future classifications
  • MSDS/SDS Authoring for products globally
  • Manage SDS authorship tool to document Regulatory requirements
  • Support software administrator with upgrades and collaborate with IT to design and implement efficient systems for global implementation
  • Implement Document Language translations as necessary
  • Support HAZCOM internationally

Support the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety & Regulatory in meeting additional assigned tasks that achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • MS or BS plus equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or related fields
  • 3-8 years’ experience in the regulatory field
  • Strong analytical, strategic, organizational, reporting, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications and database software
  • Proven track record to simplify processes
  • Knowledge of global product regulatory schemes
