The Role

This is a fantastic role for a bright self-motivated graduate with a well-rounded view of the world. We have hired a number of graduates and second jobbers and what we are looking for isn’t found on your resume, rather it’s a spark and an energy that we will sense when we meet you. This job is ideal for someone who has the drive to get on and who wants to work with a bright friendly team of young people with a shared objective.  An interest, even passing, in asset management or general finance is useful but not critical and you will have a proven ability to build a rapport with people and communicate complex ideas in an articulate and enthusiastic way. You will be selling but we are consultative and focussed on building partnerships. You will be required to communicate with clients on the telephone and so you will need to feel comfortable speaking with people on the phone. The role will involve travel and face to face meetings across America though. We are true meritocracy and if you do well then you will rise within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  •         Key account management and relationship building
  •         Build and nurture strong relationships with heads of sales and marketing at asset management firms and also maintain contact with media agencies
  •         Meet very regularly with clients and with agencies and confidently present new ventures and ideas to both parties
  •         Work to maintain and grow revenue by looking for innovative ways to support campaigns and proactively identify and contact any new advertisers in the market
  •         Develop a deep knowledge of the industry and closely monitor news and features that may affect clients
  •         Closely monitoring the news and commentary which affect your clients and their industry.

Qualifications:

What you’ll need:

  •         A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  •         Your written and verbal communication skills will be exceptional
  •         Relationship building will be second nature to you and you’ll enjoy meeting people and influencing their behaviour
  •         In our experience our best sales people have a long term outlook but are able to create a sense of urgency, keeping the long term relationship intact while winning shorter term business
  •         You won’t need micro managing because you will wake up each morning with a drive to get-on.
  •         You will have an interest in the asset management industry or back yourself to develop an interest in the asset management industry. Our best sales people know the industry as well as their clients and in some cases better
  •         People would describe you as energetic, enthusiastic, tenacious and hopefully funny
