Basic Function

Support the Assistant Director, Employer Relations and the Employer Team of the WPI Career Development Center (CDC) in managing activities which focus on employer related services and programs. These activities include: job postings, on-campus interviews, information sessions, education programs, and career fairs. Additionally, this individual will assist the Student/Alumni Team of the CDC with some career counseling and programmatic duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Assist with all on-campus interview programs including processing of all requests and confirmations, communicating with employers about new recruiting seasons, company information sessions, as well as supporting educational programs for the office.

Support administrative operations for career fairs and other employer-based recruiting activities, such as employer outreach initiatives.

Assist in the facilitation of the WPI job posting approval process utilizing the Handshake platform.

Provide career counseling to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni through appointments, walk-ins, and workshops.

Collaborate with student/alumni team colleagues in the office to produce effective programming that meet the needs of students and employers.

Process company resume search and resume book requests that arrive from employers.

Interact with corporate representatives, students, faculty, and administration on a regular basis.

Assist with collection and preparation of outcomes statistics (annual survey of recent graduates).

Qualifications

Position Requirements

Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree required/Master’s Degree preferred, plus one-three years’ experience in a career development center or field of Higher Education

Requirement

Experience with information technology tools and a high-level of proficiency in using a career services management software platform. Experience with other management tools (i.e. Salesforce, Excel and Qualtrics) highly desirable.

Requirement

Extremely detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced/dynamic environment under tight deadlines.

Requirement

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with campus community and external customers.

Requirement

Preferred familiarity with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), business, as well as humanities and arts disciplines.
