Primary Function
Typical Duties & Responsibilities

Work with all students interested in campus sustainability. Work specifically with student clubs and theme houses (e.g., Green House, Farm House) with an interest directly or indirectly in campus sustainability.
Coordinates the Sustainability Fellows Program through mentorship, proposal review, leading of monthly meetings, and tracking progress on projects. 
Support and communicate with PPS Energy Specialist on student opportunities, sustainability reporting, and the Green Revolving Fund use.
Work with the Dean of Students office to keep informed of student engagement in campus sustainability activities. 
Maintain the Sustain Sewanee web portal for promoting activities related to environment and sustainability. 
Work with students and staff to facilitate participation in national sustainability organizations and meetings, specifically but not exclusively, Planet Forward, and AASHE
Leads orientation activities for new students arriving on campus, including student activities fair. 
Tracks student activities and reports monthly to supervisor.

Judgment Required Judgment and discretion as to the use of established policies are required to perform the essential duties of this position.
Budgetary Responsibility Monitors expenditures against budget; prepares budget data for review/approval by supervisor/department head.

Job Specifications/Position Qualifications (minimum)


Bachelors in Environmental Field of Study


2+ years of experience in on campus sustainability in Higher Education (may be volunteer or club)
