Oversees and enforces best practices in engineering and support of the end-user computing environment, including but not limited to desktop computing stations (desktops, laptops, and virtual computing devices), mobile devices (IOS, Android, other) and software application installs (COTS and proprietary). Supervises personnel resources across various projects/initiatives. Oversees organization-wide patch management, desktop/laptop images and scripting, as well as large scale implementation projects related to the client computing platform. Investigates, analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves problems and works with other team members to resolve problems that have been escalated for senior level support. Supervises staff including selection, orientation, training, performance management, counseling, and corrective action. Handles policy and employee issues in conjunction with Human Resources. Serves as the subject matter expert for end-user computing architecture design team. Provides an effective and efficient end-user computing environment which meets users’ needs and expectations including stability, maintainability, performance, and recoverability. Oversees deployment and maintenance an enterprise workstation and software management framework and associated systems. Designs, tests and maintains company-wide standard desktop/laptop images, along with creation and maintenance of all associated documentation. Oversees implementation and documents operating system upgrades and patches to be deployed into the organization. Directs creation, testing, documentation and maintenance of unassisted installs of software updates and new installs, as well as custom desktop configurations. Interfaces with and supports different areas of the Information Technology organization during implementation, documentation, and support. Leads various projects related to evaluating, testing, and deployment of new technology and innovation solutions. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
High School Diploma. BS in Information Technology field and/or Microsoft Certification preferred.

Minimum Experience: 

7+ years of experience in Information Technology field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Desktop Engineering professional
Minimum 3 years’ experience with imaging tools and software packaging technologies
Prior experience in a supervisory role or in mentoring technical resources required.
Experience in conducting training and informational sessions strongly preferred.

Required Skills: 

• Advanced knowledge of imaging, patch management, endpoint protection, scripting/automation, and software packaging technologies and processes.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Desktop operating systems methodologies (file system, registry, services, etc.), as well as system tools and remote desktop support.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows 7, Microsoft Office, and other commonly used end-user software applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager or equivalent solution
• Proficient in one or more scripting languages including PowerShell
• Strong knowledge of Citrix XenApp and VMware a plus
• Advanced level troubleshooting skills, including Tier 3 support and root cause analysis of the Desktop environment
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Server products
• Proficient in a distributed systems environment
• Working knowledge of networking technology and concepts
• Proven ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to demonstrate high integrity, develop strong working relationships and build trust and confidence among peers and management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide technical consultations and presentations as needed.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in fast paced high volume IT environment with ability to assess technology needs, maintain systems, and execute operational goals.
• Demonstrated ability to manage/mentor senior and junior team members and guide daily operations of High-Performance infrastructure team.
• Demonstrated experience managing timely project delivery to high degree of success.
• Assist in strategic planning at an enterprise level
• Proactive communicator with all levels of staff and management with the ability to maintain open communication with others.
