Location: Career and Technical Education/Center for Advanced Technology at Mohonasen Campus or Albany Campus
Basic Function: To instruct students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication Program. Work as part of a team of educators to help students reach educational standards set forth by the State of New York and the Board of Cooperative Services.
Responsibilities: Instruct students in the welding program in grades 9-12. Plan instructional program, conduct student assessments. Provide students with the requisite trade skills and the integrated academic skills necessary to meet NYS standards, secure a job in a field related to their studies that pays a living wage, and enables them to continue their education. The instructor must collectively and individually instill in all students safe work habits, the importance of lifelong learning and a work ethic that fosters reliability, competence and satisfaction with one’s own work. Follow National Curriculum Standards. Coordinates clinical learning experiences for students, instructs students in all theory per curriculum, evaluates student progress, communicates with outside agencies and component school districts.
Starting Date: On or about August 15, 2016
Starting Salary: Dependent upon step and column of current contract prorated to the amount of service rendered. The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001
Bachelor’s Degree with Certification in Welding, Welding 7-12 or Metal Trades Welding and Fabrication or Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with two (2) years of Welding experience with eligibility of a Transitional A Certificate or five (5) years Welding experience with eligibility of a Transitional A Certificate.
