Union College's official web site, www.union.edu, is one of the College's most important - and certainly most visible - tools for representing its image, mission, benefits and values to a diverse range of audiences.
Given the public visibility of all Union College web sites and web content, and especially the role of www.union.edu as the College's online "front door," the highest professional standards must govern this content. To help facilitate this, the Office of Communications and Marketing has established a set of Web and Content Management Guidelines for use by the campus community. These guidelines were developed in consultation with higher ed web experts after benchmarking a number of other college web sites, and after understanding both the needs and challenges of our internal and external users.
All departments/offices that use the Content Management System must adhere to the following user policies and style guidelines, which were developed based on consultation with web site experts and benchmarking of other institutional web sites.
