Summary

The Assistant Registrar for ​Registration & ​Scheduling is an administrative position in the Registrar’s Office reporting directly to the College Registrar. This position is responsible for creating all c​ourse schedule​s​, including ​the assignment​ of rooms and ​the finalization of meeting times​, oversee​ing the prescheduling and subsequent registration of all full and part-time undergraduate students; ​maintenance and accuracy of all student and parent data and record processing, ​creating ad hoc ​reports utilizing Business Objects ​and ​running ​standardized reports​ within the Colleague SIS​, finaliz​ing​ the end of term examination schedule​​ in conjunction with the Registrar, assist​ing​ in the implementation of web based programs and processes, and ​overseeing the ​development and modification of the annual ​online ​academic ​catalog using the Acalog Catalog Management system. ​Responsibilities also include maintaining and auditing the accuracy of the master course database, creating new courses approved by the Academic Affairs Committee, compiling and reporting statistics of student enrollment information, and working with the International Programs office to create and maintain records of exchange students and those students participating in terms abroad programs.​ Operating as part of an integrated team, the Assistant Registrar is one of three administrative positions in the Registrar’s Office. This position supervises two registration assistants, interacts extensively with faculty, students, parents and staff, and requires the enforcement of numerous College policies. The position requires someone willing and able to provide both leadership and direction to clerical personnel as well as learning the duties of the other administrative positions.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five​ years previous supervisory experience in a higher education setting, the ability to identify problems, implement solutions, resolve issues, ​and ​work well with a diverse group of students and faculty, ​while ​concurrently manag​ing multiple tasks or projects. Demonstrated knowledge of query languages and data retrieval techniques, knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague student information system, demonstrated proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)​ and​ Google Apps, ​strong organizational, computer and data analysis skills, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently under the pressure of ​multiple ​deadlines in a fast paced office setting are considered essential. Experience working with Web Content Management Systems ​is highly desirable. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills,​ both written and oral, ​good judgment and​ the​ ability to display both tact and diplomacy ​in communications with campus constituents.
