Assistant Sports Information Director 7360

The Assistant Sports Information Director (ASID) will serve as the main publicist for the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s ice hockey programs and work with the NCAA Division III athletic teams in producing press releases and department publications including media guides, alumni newsletters and other promotional materials. The ASID handles web site management, home statistical service, media relations, radio and television broadcast relations, and new media initiatives including live video, blogs and social media. The ASID also supervises student assistants and assists with the daily operation of the Sports Information department.


A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field and three or more years experience in a collegiate athletic media relations or sports information office is required. Also required is effective communication (verbal and written) abilities, organization and human relations skills, proficiency with computers and software applications including InDesign, and knowledge of website technology and Stat Crew software. Candidates must be able to work with a diverse group of students and be available to travel and work weekends and evenings.
