Summary:

As part of the Union College Facilities Services team, the Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Science and Engineering (S&E) building capital project construction and renovation project and will serve as a key member of the Facilities Services design team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Utilities Management and Construction, the selected candidate will ensure that daily work is performed according to College standards by managing general contractors, sub-contractors, architects and engineers. This is a 3 year position with a strong possibility for an ongoing appointment.

Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in project management, architecture, mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in new construction/renovation project management (experience in a college or university setting is desirable). Candidates must have experience in all aspects of construction and renovation projects including detailed review of construction drawings and specifications, knowledge and understanding of logistics and planning, construction document control mechanisms, and budget management (including reporting budgets and status of projects), understanding of ADA compliance, and knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems. Candidates must also be safety conscious, have excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, a proven ability to work independently, the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision and direction, the ability to coordinate several projects (large and small) at once, and the ability to clearly communicate, coordinate, and interact with a diverse groups of individuals and end users including students, staff, faculty, and consultants.
