Summary:

The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for advancing Union College's efforts in becoming a leader in campus sustainability. The selected candidate will work with the entire campus community to develop a sustainability agenda for integrating sustainability values and practices into the College's planning processes, facilities operations and design, research activities, curriculum, and extracurricular life; will educate the campus community about sustainability issues and Union College's initiatives; will engage all facets of the campus community in reducing our environmental footprint and carbon emissions; and will report on Union's progress under the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required with a B.S. in Environmental Science or related field and 2 years of successful management of sustainability programs and higher education experience preferred. Candidates should possess outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational, planning, analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills, plus an ability to work both independently and as a team member. Successful candidates must be safety conscious, be committed to diversity, and be able to work effectively with all constituencies within a diverse institution.
