The English Department at Union College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (or advanced standing for suitable candidates), specializing in British Modernism, with a focus on Transatlantic or Global Modernism. The ideal candidate might explore the connections of 20th century British literature to the Caribbean, Africa, North America, or Latin America. Applicants must have the demonstrated ability to teach both 20th century British poetry and fiction. Applicants must also have the ability to teach an introduction to literature course and the college’s First-Year Preceptorial. Applicants must be committed to both excellent teaching and scholarship. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute courses in support of Union’s interdisciplinary programs and welcome applications from members of groups traditionally underrepresented in the field.
