The Mechanical Engineering Department at Union College of Schenectady, NY invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position (or advanced standing for suitable candidates) starting 1 September 2017.

A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field), excellence in teaching and a demonstrated commitment to high quality, peer reviewed and published research are required. Undergraduate research is a primary focus at Union College, and candidates will be expected to pursue an active program of scholarly research involving undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses and laboratories in the thermal-fluids stem of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in fluid mechanics, computational methods, heat transfer and energy studies who will develop course content in these areas. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach courses outside of the thermal-fluid sciences, in appropriate interdisciplinary programs and to the broader campus community.
