Areas of interest
John Blanchard’s main areas of research are in ancient Greek Philosophy and the History of Political Philosophy. He has published “Parmenides’ Truth” in The Eccentric Core: The Thought of Seth Benardete. His work currently focuses on various dialogues of Plato, Sophocles’ Antigone, Parmenides, and Protagoras. He has related interests in Heidegger and Nietzsche. Before coming to Union College, he taught Philosophy at Siena College, CUNY’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Pace University, and William Patterson University.
