ILL In A Nutshell
If Schaffer Library does not have the material you need, you can borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
Available free for students, faculty, and staff.
Use ILLiad When
You cannot locate an item in Primo
- Start your research early. While articles can come through ILL in just hours, it could take days (and sometimes weeks) to receive materials depending on location and rarity.
- Only use ILL when you're sure you can't find materials through Primo
- To request material, check the status of a request, or pick up an article, log in to the ILLiad Interlibrary Loan System.
- When requesting material, fill in as much information as you can. Sometimes you can get the computer to do this for you. If you're searching for an article in Primo and you see "No Online Access" instead of "Available Online," click the title and select "Check for Available Services". You will be prompted to sign-in to request via iLLiad.
