Returning Student Housing Registration Overview
The Office of Residential Education & Housing is excited to announce our Housing Registration process for returning students for the 2024-2025 academic year! All returning students taking classes during the fall 2024 must complete the Housing Registration Form in their student housing portal. This includes all students planning to live in specialty housing such as Fraternity/Sorority Houses, Theme Houses, and Minerva Houses.
This application will now open on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 10:00 AM, and close on Sunday, April 7th, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Failure to complete the Housing Registration form by the above deadline will result in a student not being able to select a room during room selection or be assigned to their preferred space in specialty housing. It is imperative that you complete the registration form if you are returning to campus as a student for the fall 2024 term.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I've submitted my housing application but need to make a change to my answers (one of the various questions regarding preference/lifestyle or emergency contact information). How can I do this?
Students need to email housing@union.edu and request that their application be cleared. Once this is done the student can submit the application again.
-
Do I need to find a roommate group to fill the entire space I want to live in?
No, students are not required to fill any spaces that they would like to live in when selecting a roommate. However, any students that select a space that is not filled will receive random roommates.
-
I'm going abroad in the fall what do I do about fall housing?
Students who are going abroad in the fall are not permitted to select fall housing. During your study abroad trip you will receive information about completing your returning students application for the term you will be back on campus.
-
Can I create a roommate group with students in different class years?
Yes, you can create a roommate group with students of any class year (besides incoming first year students). There will be no penalty to students who pull in students of younger age.
-
What do I do if I can't find a roommate but want to live with someone?
If you are looking for a roommate for next academic year, you can use the roommate matching portion of your housing portal to find students who have the same living styles as you. Please note that you will only have access once you've completed your Housing Registration Form. Additionally, our office will be holding speed roommate matching programs on campus in the near future for students to meet potential new roommates. Keep an eye on your email for the details.
-
Will my roommate and I get the same selection time?
Each student will be assigned an individual selection date, and time regardless of any roommate groups that they create. The student with the earliest room selection time in a roommate group can pull in the other students during their selection time if they choose to do so.
