The best way to make sure you get an appointment at the Writing Center is to use our online appointment system, called WCOnline. The first time you use the system, you must register for an account. Please follow these steps:
- Log-in using your Union College username (whatever comes before “@union.edu” in your email address). Your password will be your Union email password.
- You will be directed to a form titled “Create a New Account.” Complete the required fields. Click “Register.”
- You will now be able to log-in and see the Writing Center schedule. (Again, using your Union College username, or whatever comes before “@union.edu” in your email address — and your password will be your Union email password).
Once you have registered, and logged-in to see the Writing Center schedule, choose an availability, and make the appointment. You will receive an appointment confirmation via email. We suggest that you meet our staff and choose the person who works best for you. Don’t be afraid to “try out” working with several different staff members, so that you find someone who best fits your writing needs and learning style.
If you have trouble signing up for a Writing Center appointment, try viewing this video tutorial. If you are still having trouble, drop by the Writing Center during hours of operation — and we will assist you. Remember that we are located on the second floor of Schaffer Library, Rooms 226 & 227. We are open during the ten-week term Sunday through Thursday, 3-11pm. The Writing Center is closed on Friday and Saturday. We are also closed during breaks, when class is not in session.
