Black History Month events slated for February

Throughout February, the College will be hosting a range of events to commemorate Black History Month.

Spencer Paysinger

Former NFL lineman and Super Bowl Champion Spencer Paysinger will speak on Feb. 20 in the O'Brien Center.

  • Thursday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. - Rev. William Barber will speak in Memorial Chapel
  • Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 5-8 p.m.: Black Student Union and French Club will hold a Mardi Gras Dining Takeover in Reamer Dining
  • Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 pm. - Spencer Paysinger, former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl Champion, will speak in O’Brien 117
  • Friday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. - The African Student Association will host a fashion show in the College Park Hall Ballroom
  • Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. - The Black Student Union will host the 8th Annual Black Excellence Ball in the College Park Hall Ballroom
  • Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 5-6 p.m. - BIPOC Employee Alliance Mixer in Old Chapel

Black History Month Wall Project:

Students, faculty and staff will be partnering together on the Black History Month Wall project. This commemoration, which will appear in academic buildings across campus, acknowledges the scholarly accomplishments, as well as the impactful contributions Black people have made, that serve as a source of inspiration. It also pays tribute to the courage and resilience displayed in overcoming significant challenges on their paths to success.
