From figure drawing to digital fabrication, printmaking to magnet making, the Feigenbaum Center for Visual Arts buzzed with activity last week during the Visual Arts Department’s second annual Open Studios and Art Fair.

Students, faculty, staff and guests came out for an evening of creation, conversation and a celebration of the visual arts. Participants of all ages tried their hand at art-making techniques and equipment in a number of studios.

Among other activities, they molded clay, made Matisse-inspired prints, carved wooden names plates and sat for dramatic photo portraits. They also enjoyed a drawing session, digital art demos, a knitting and crochet display, and seeing student artwork on exhibit and for sale. A Pop art film screening with popcorn and a gourmet hot dog bar added to evening’s zest.
