Environmental Engineering
Major
Degree: Bachelor of Science
As an Environmental Engineering major at Union College, you will be part of an interdisciplinary program that brings together engineering, science, and the liberal arts to find solutions to current and future environmental issues. Our program takes a strong collaborative approach blending elements of traditional environmental engineering and science with a strong understanding of how our actions impact the environment and our communities.
With an emphasis on hands-on undergraduate research using instrumentation typically found at the graduate level, students build a strong core in engineering fundamentals, mathematics and basic science. The curriculum covers topics such as energy, water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, waste management and recycling, water and wastewater unit design, and contaminant fate and transport. We also offer many elective courses such as sustainable infrastructure and environmentally friendly buildings.
