Michael Okwori, Mary H. and Richard K. Templeton Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering, had a paper published in the Journal of Computational Biology and Chemistry with his colleague Dr. Ali Eslami from Wichita State University. The paper, Feature Engineering from Meta-Data for Prediction of Differentially Expressed Genes: An Investigation of Mus musculus Exposed to Space-Conditions, proposes an integrated approach of engineering features to train a machine learning-based model to predict differential gene expression.
