Internships

One of the distinguishing characteristics of Union's liberal arts education is our emphasis on applying ideas through practical experience. Our ideal location – near the state capital of Albany, in the heart of the Northeast's "Tech Valley," a three-hour drive to New York City and Boston – enables us to connect our students with valuable internships in all fields.

ANTHROPOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR APRYL TOVAR '21 INTERNED AT GLIDE, A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CENTER FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE BASED IN SAN FRANCISCO.

Union students get a firsthand look at the culture of Silicon Valley while working for start-ups and other companies during this winter term. The program combines an internship with a course in culture and entrepreneurship, which includes readings, field notes, and meetings with key employers and alumni in the area. About half of the students work in fields related to the arts, humanities and social sciences. Most recently, participants have interned at nonprofits dedicated to supporting women in developing countries, artists with developmental disabilities and at-risk youth.
