Sports and fitness
The integration of first-rate academics and athletic activities is an important part of the Union experience. Sports teams and clubs, fitness, cheering from the sidelines - Union has everything you'll need to complement your academics and enrich your day-to-day campus life.
- Union is a Division III school with Division I men's and women's ice hockey.
- We are a member of the NCAA, the Liberty League and ECAC Hockey.
- In addition to varsity sports, students are active in men's, women's and co-ed club sports and intramurals - from rugby to rock climbing and skiing to soccer.
The Alumni Gymnasium, which houses the Breazzano Fitness Center. Here you’ll find all the machines and free weights you need, plus squash and racquetball courts, swimming and diving pool, and classes in everything from aerobics to spinning.
Body and mind
The Wicker Wellness Center offers a comprehensive array of health, wellness and counseling services, and is home to certified therapy dogs. Health Services, located on the first floor, is staffed by nurse practitioners, registered professional nurses and a collaborating physician. The second-floor Eppler-Wolff Counseling Center for Psychological Services offers confidential counseling as well as group education and outreach opportunities to help you manage the challenges of college life.
Getting out and about
The nearby historic Stockade District provides a pleasant chance for a leisurely stroll during a study break. Alternatively, you can explore the 97-mile bike-hike trail along the Mohawk River on foot or bicycle. For a different experience, consider renting one of the kayaks at Mohawk Harbor to enjoy the water.
