Union College student dancers rehearsed on Saturday with members of Eisenhower Dance Detroit in preparation for the troupe's four-day residency at the Schenectady campus on Oct. 15-18, culminating with a performance at The Egg in Albany.

Charles Batson, a circus historian and professor of French and Francophone studies, was recently featured in the New York Post about how Montreal is the circus capital of the world.

At Union, Batson teaches Introduction to Circus Arts: Culture, Imagination and Marvel.

He joined Union in 1998.

On Sept. 9, President David R. Harris announced that he would step down as president at the end of the academic year.

Harris shared his thoughts on the decision with WAMC, Northeast Public Radio.

Northeast Public Radio is a member of National Public Radio serving parts of seven northeastern states. These include New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.
