President Elizabeth Kiss recently sat down with noted writer Paul Grondahl, the director of the New York State Writers Institute. Grondahl writes a weekly column for the Times Union.

She shared her very personal story on how she was shaped by parents who witnessed and fought the atrocities of the Nazis and the communists in Hungary.

A ribbon-cutting was recently held for the M&T Bank Center at Mohawk Harbor, which will serve as the new home of the Division I men’s and women’s hockey programs.

A gathering of state, county and local officials and dignitaries, including New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and Union President Elizabeth Kiss, celebrated the milestone.
