Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA)

All Union College Group health plans comply with the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 by providing medical and surgical benefits for mastectomies and also providing coverage, as determined by the attending physician and patient, for the following: reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy was performed; surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance; and prostheses and physical complications at all stages of mastectomy, including lymphedema.
