The Impact of Social & Economic Disruption on Parental Burnout: Evidence from the COVID-19 Pandemic
The research presented in this talk stems from the exploration of two undeniable realities. One, the pandemic was incredibly hard and disruptive; two, we are continuing to manage hardships and disruption six years later. In this talk we will look at the unique impact on parents from the social and economic disruption triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in the United States. We will look at longitudinal data from Iowa spanning pre-pandemic to present, as well as cross-sectional data from a rural community in central New York.
