Police Reform is topic of Oct. 13 forum

The Forum on Constructive Engagement will present two former members of Congress – Republican Charles Bass and Democrat Albert Wynn – on “Police Reform” on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at 6 p.m.

Bass represented New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District for 14 years, serving on the Budget; Government Reform and Oversight; Transportation and Infrastructure; Intelligence; and Energy and Commerce Committees. He is a senior director at Greenberg Traurig law firm in Washington D.C., focusing his practice on government policy and legislative matters throughout the federal government.

Wynn represented Maryland’s 4th Congressional District from 1993 to 2008, serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee and as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). He is also a senior director of Greenberg Traurig, where he specializes in public policy, government law and strategy and energy. Prior to being elected to Congress in 1992, Wynn was a Maryland state senator and a Maryland state delegate.

The discussion will be moderated by President David R. Harris and Jahnae Morgan ’21.

Organizing groups include the Civic Engagement Initiative, Black Student Union and the Office of Intercultural Affairs.

The event is open only to members of the Union community.
