Prof. Orzel authors four Ted-Ed videos

Chad Orzel, associate professor and chair of the Physis and Astronomy Department, is the author of four animated videos created by Ted-Ed, the online learning offshoot of TED, known for its popular TEDTalks series. The videos, designed to help viewers learn concepts in physics, have received tens of thousands of views on YouTube. The videos are:

Physics 100 Students Participate in Arecibo Observatory Remote Observing from Union

Students in the Physics 100 First-Year Seminar class joined Professors Koopmann and Hallenbeck for an observing run at Arecibo Observatory the nights of Oct 21 and 22. Observations of gas-rich galaxies were carried out remotely by projecting Arecibo computer screens in Professor Koopmann’s lab at Union. Students observed in groups of 3-4 in hour-long slots, helping to log the observations and monitor the data.
