Study Abroad

Engage with the world

We believe strongly in preparing you for an increasingly global and technologically-connected world, one where the ability to appreciate other cultures and perspectives is critical for success. You'll not only enhance your cultural fluency, but may make meaningful contributions to global communities in need through volunteer work abroad.

  • Nearly 60% of Union students go on terms or mini-terms abroad, one of the highest percentages among U.S. liberal arts colleges.
  • Union offers 44 study abroad programs.
  • We go to 29 countries on 6 continents.
  • There are 24 full terms abroad during fall, winter and spring.
  • The 20 mini-terms run for three weeks during winter and summer breaks. The type and number of mini-terms vary from year to year and include several domestic terms.
  • Roughly 80% of programs are led by Union faculty, so students enjoy a global experience that’s uniquely personal.
  • With the exception of work-study, 100% of the financial aid a student receives on campus applies to full terms abroad.
